Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
First Principles Consulting Pty Ltd (ABN 50 648 698 766, "FPC", "we", "us", "our") is a mining operations consultancy based at Shop 4, 40 Maud St, Maroochydore, QLD 4558, Australia. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and share personal information through firstprinciplesconsulting.com (the "Site").
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Where a visitor is located in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California, we also apply the relevant protections of the GDPR, the UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), set out below.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us directly
When you complete a form on the Site (for example, our Operational Score survey), we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Information about your operation or site (for example, company name, role, and details you provide about your mining operation)
Information collected automatically
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site, such as pages viewed, time on site, general location, and device and browser type. We do not use Meta Pixel, advertising cookies, or any other tracking or advertising service. See our Cookie Policy for detail.
3. How we collect and process your information
Survey responses are collected through Tally, a third-party form provider. That data is passed via Make.com (an automation tool) into Coda, where we calculate your results. Make.com then pulls the calculated results back out of Coda and publishes them to a page on our Site, built in Webflow. We then use Gmail to send you a link to your results page.
Each of these providers (Tally, Make.com, Coda, Webflow and Google) processes data on our behalf to deliver this service, and is restricted from using your information for its own purposes.
4. Why we collect your information
We collect and use your information to:
- Calculate and deliver your survey or Operational Score results
- Contact you about your results or our services
- Improve our Site and services
- Understand how visitors use our Site, via Google Analytics
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
5. Where your information is stored
Because we use overseas-based service providers (including Tally, Make.com, Coda, Webflow and Google), your information may be stored or processed on servers outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. Each provider maintains its own security and privacy standards; we choose providers that maintain appropriate safeguards.
6. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law. Once it's no longer needed, we securely delete or de-identify it. You can ask us to delete your information at any time — see “Your rights” below.
7. Your rights
