Not improving their systems

Time waste differs from material waste in that there can be no salvage. The easiest of all wastes and the hardest to correct is the waste of time, because wasted time does not litter the floor like wasted material.

Henry Ford

Many business owners don’t like to waste time formalising and improving systems because they think it’s just a 5-minute task (like responding to an email). Yet, they do that task (responding to that email) 5 times a day, 5 times a week not realising that it adds up to 1 hour a month or 12 hours a year. It would have been better to spend an hour to create a system once that takes seconds to run over and over. Even better, you can get someone else to run it for you or better still, automate it!
