Lesson 5 of 6
In Progress

Your responsibility as a business owner

Being an entrepreneur is about committing to something bigger than yourself. It’s about changing other people’s worlds. From a practical perspective, you can count how many people depend on your business.

  • You might have a partner and/or kids that also depend on your success.
  • Your clients depend on how you make their lives easier or better.
  • Your team and contractors depend on you for their income? The majority of people in society aren’t prepared or simple don’t want to go through the challenges of being a business owner. They are much happier to be an employee that clocks in and out. There is nothing wrong with this and may business owners envy this “care free” lifestyle at times.
  • Your community and causes close to your heart.

Your job is to challenge the status quo, to keep innovating to chart a different path. The more you lean into your role as an entrepreneur the bigger of a game you’ll start to play. The bigger the game you play the more lives you can impact in a positive and meaningful way.

Money is only used for two things. One, it’s to make you comfortable, and the more comfortable you are the more creative you will become. And the other purpose is it enables you to extend the service you provide far beyond your own presence.

Bob Proctor

Remember, this change is going to challenge not just you but those closest to you as well.
