Lesson 3 of 6
In Progress

The hero’s journey

If you’re like most business owners, you’re probably about to go through a journey like the one described in this graphic which is based on Joseph Campbell’s classic hero’s narrative arc.

Think of any movie where the hero has a montage scene and that’s a story based on the hero arc. Have you ever wondered why the hero makes such a fuss of accepting what they have to do and just “getting on with it”? From the viewers perspective success is inevitable. It’s not until you realise you are now the hero in your own story that you realise that success (whilst inevitable if you kept working at it) can seem out of reach.

Nobody will offer you certainty or a guarantee. Nobody can tell you what it will look like or when it will arrive. This uncertainty for most can be crippling. The good news is that improving just 1% each day (it’s been mathematically proven) that success is inevitable if you just stick with it.

“If you’re going through hell, keep going”

Winston Churchill

Don’t take my word for it? Look at all the people around you that have succeeded at something in their life despite challenges and setbacks because they just consistently kept working at it.
