The comfort zone
What makes a change like this so hard? It’s not just the comfort zone that you have to overcome (this is the momentum of where you are) but you need to actually push through your fears. Fear of failure, fear of what others might think, it doesn’t matter what the fear is, it will hold you back.
Sooner or later, we all go through a crucible. Most believe there are two types of people who go into a crucible. The ones who become stronger from the experience and survive it, and the ones who die. But there’s a third type. The ones who learn to love the fire and choose to stay in their crucible because it’s easier to embrace the pain when it’s all you know anymore.Unknown
Chances are you’ve come across this third type. They are cynical, bitter and just generally unpleasant to be around. They’ve given up and try to bring everyone around them down to their level. It’s 100% negativity all of the time. They suck the fun and joy out of the room because they’ve lost hope. This is not a fulfilled or well-lived life.
This is why many people leave the corporate environment. Because this person is everywhere you looked. You may have even started turning into that person. Burnt out, exhausted and just trying to get to the weekend or the next holiday.
You may feel like you’re here right now or at times but you have the choice of which of the three outcomes you want to live.
