Mark is the Founder and Managing Director of FPC. Born in the UK and raised in Switzerland, Mark’s career started in Australia as a small manufacturing business owner in his twenties. He worked as an automotive supply chain project manager / engineer in his thirties and he’s been a management consultant since his forties, specialising in the resources sector. He has sustainably transformed many organisations top-down / bottom-up. He learnt front line change management ‘in the trenches’ working for many different consulting firms. Over time, Mark developed a leading practice method by distilling many disparate approaches into a most effective one. This approach drives change through leadership, empowered people, optimised business processes and appropriate technology. Mark has worked in Australia, Canada, USA, Europe, Chile, Peru, Ghana and Papua New Guinea.

Patrick has held a variety of roles across large and small public and private companies in industries such as Waste and Recycling, Mining & Resources, Local Government, FMCG, Automotive and Building Products. The focus is always on systems and process development, change management, implementation and project management. David is a qualified Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Banking, Finance & Risk Management. He has worked on a wide variety of complex projects across various industries, having spent the vast majority of his career within the Mining Industry dealing with a number of different commodities. David has a strong ability to adapt quickly to versatile and changing environments with strategic planning and organisational values at the forefront of every business decision and recommendation.

Kate Hobbs

Kate Hobbs

Kate has a broad range of experience gained in consulting, operational and project-based roles across a number of industries including over ten years within mining. She has tertiary qualifications in mining engineering, management, marketing, and international studies, as well as being a qualified Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt. Her expertise in process improvement, cost reduction, scheduling, strategic planning, management operating systems, change management, and brand alignment has led to successful outcomes across a wide variety of projects. Kate recently led the successful organisational change management effort for BHP Billiton’s Uranium CSG during a global business transformation project. Her marketing and business management background, combined with her extensive operational involvement and strong personal engagement skills, has given Kate the ability to accurately determine client requirements and translate them into effective practical solutions.

Ray has significant first-hand operational and change management experience across a wide variety of industries, including Mining, Energy Distribution, Retail Timber and Finance. Passionately committed to building high performing teams and cultures, he has delivered dramatic outcomes in transformation projects across these industries through exceptional client engagement. Over 20 years’ operational experience in various facets of the Retail Timber industry has given Ray practical experience in handling the day to day aspects of business as well as implementing process improvement. This capability led Ray to a consulting career which has spanned over 12 years. Ray is competent across a number of aspects, including process improvement, change management, management operating systems (MOS), facilitation, team development, coaching and mentoring. In 2011 the Mine Operating System, which Ray had developed and implemented for BHP Billiton at Olympic Dam, was awarded BHP’s Global Safety Excellence Award for increasing productivity and improving safety through the effective management of simultaneous operations.

StJohn Lees

StJohn Lees

StJohn has 20 years experience in Civil Construction and Resources. His international career has seen him work in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, West Africa, South America and Europe. Working on Rio Tinto’s Simandou and Guyana Goldfield’s Aurora projects, he led the development of creative Energy and Infrastructure options which enhanced project NPV. As Rio Tinto’s Contracts and Commercial Systems Manager, Australasia he led his team through process improvement projects, working with major Suppliers on a range of initiatives. Specific skills include Contracts/Procurement Systems, Cost/Energy Reduction, LEAN Six Sigma Process Improvement, Studies and Project Development, Contracting Strategies, Detailed Design oversight and Risk Reduction Reviews. StJohn’s formal qualifications include double degrees in Civil Engineering and Geology/Geophysics from the University of Melbourne and a Masters in Business Administration from the Melbourne Business School.

He is committed to building positive win/win business relationships that deliver sustainable and profitable business outcomes through the optimisation of people, process and technology.

Ivan has consulting experience across multiple industry sectors in the areas of strategy, operations and project management. Prior to commencing his consulting career he had ten years commercial experience in a variety of heavy engineering, project management and business development roles in the manufacturing, mining and associated industry sectors. As a project manager and senior consultant, Ivan has led and contributed to Lean Six Sigma engagements which included development of operational strategy, business process improvement analyses and implementation projects, post implementation reviews and management operating system compliance audits. Ivan is also experienced in the field of change management and communications to prepare stakeholders for evidence-based consulting engagements where cultural shifts must occur.

Lara’s recent achievements include GRI Level C sustainability report and invited speaker at the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) conference on Sustainability and Integrated Reporting (Melbourne, March, 2012), Encycle Award for Contribution to Environmental Sustainability (NAWIC, 2012), Certification of an Environmental Management System (based on ISO 14001, 2011), continual improvement of compliance ratings from low-average to high, Environmental Approval under Part IV of the Environmental Protection Act for the Jack Hills Expansion Project (2012) and implementation of an Approvals register, and recipient of the Department of Mines and Petroleum (DMP) Golden Gecko Award (2010).
